Thinking, Fast and Slow
Why
I heard a podcast with Daniel Kahneman and I enjoyed it very much. I’ve been meaning to read “Thinking, Fast and Slow” for a while, but I got to it just now.
What I liked
The book is very dense: there is just an outstanding amount of information. A full life of research, distilled for the layman. The writing style is clear and accessible, but never banal.
The idea of System 1 and System 2, cooperating and competing to reach a decision, reminded me of the Crystal Society book.
What I disliked
The book is very research oriented, and that’s its strength and weakness: I would have loved more personal stories or more philosophical takes.
